Sorry for this late post.We have been really busy lately, but we do not forget this place :3

Finally, a complete new about Siam Shade!:D
Artists from various countries have joined in a tribute album to SIAM SHADE and the album was released on 27th octuber of this year. This brand new CD was created in memory of 15-years career sinces their debut (it's a shame that they are not together u_u).

The man in charge of this project (the producer) was Marti Frederiksen, who has worked with famous artist like Ozzy Osbourne,Aerosmith, and more.

This is why I RESPECT Siam Shade even more:

They have gone thru many hard times like doing part times for odd jobs while building their music career as a band, I'm so glad they ended up very successful because they earned it.

Just reminds me of me going thru hard times now, I understand how they feel, ah, the life experience. T__T

The title was reference to a lyrics line from KAZUMA's composed and written song "Don't" during his SIAM SHADE days, which echoes "Don't Let Me Go...". ^_^ Also, the "so sing my heart out" is a final line from the song lyrics. It is one of a very dear love content song. Usually he comes up with very ~~sexual~~ naughty songs. XDDDDDDDDDD;

Now what? Yet another 2 weeks late to greet my dearest former SIAM SHADE member a happy birthday, though I still managed to dedicate an entry, ne? *phew*

Yeah! I randomly search for SIAM SHADE in the Google search engine (actually searching for pictures, lol) and I stumbled across a Japanese Heart Of Rock concert report!

SIAM SHADE 07/11/18「HEART OF ROCK」@日本武道館

ほんの僅かな伝説の時が訪れた

2002年3月10日、SIAM SHADEは解散をした。彼等5人が動かす時計は永遠に時を刻むことは無い、そうずっと思っていた。しかし、彼等は再びそのSIAM SHADEとしての時間を刻むことになった。誰よりもSIAM SHADEを愛したチーフマネージャー・中村新一さんへの追悼を込めて。

電撃的な復活の声明から早4ヶ月、ついにこの11月18日がやってきました。
小学生が初めて遠足行くように胸が高鳴り、朝6時に起きてしまったり（笑）。色々と準備をして9時半に家を出発、名古屋から新幹線で東京へ。実に東京へ行くのは7年ぶり。日本武道館は以外にあっさりと辿り着けました。会場へ行くと物販の最後尾に並ぶ。既に長蛇の列ができていた。グッズ買うのに1時間もかかったのは拙者初めてでござる。

無事にグッズを購入し（レポの最後に載せます）、正面に周るとありました

だんだんとこの場所に自分が立っていることを実感してきます。
しかし、周辺にいるとリハの音漏れが聴こえてきて、あの曲、この曲やるんだ！という事にもなったり。でもそんなのは関係なく、気持ちは昂ぶるばかりです。恒例の花はLUNA SEAの面々（SUGIZO除く）、Gackt、Janne Da Arc、西川貴教、東海林のり子・・・などなどから届いていました。

午後4時開場、アリーナだったのでスムーズに入場。
ちなみにアリーナHブロックの60番台でした。

・・・近っ！！！
実際前から9列目。KAZUMAの前辺りの位置です。めちゃくちゃ近かったです。こんな席になるとは！神様に感謝。座席は解散ライブのように360℃・全方向が人で埋め尽くされていました。あの時のように武道館記録の15,000人入ってるんじゃないか？と思わせられるぐらいの数の人（翌日の新聞で確認したら13,500人と記述されてました）。俺自身、こんなに人の多いライブに言ったのは初めて。解散して5年半も経過しているのにこれだけ多くの人が集まる・・・改めて凄いバンドだと思いました。

17時10分ごろ影アナ。今日、特別に影アナを担当したのは淳士とも共演した元日本放送アナウンサーの壮口さん（俺も日本放送はよく聴いてたから懐かしかった）。規格外の影アナで凄く盛り上がりました（「以上の事が守れるなら後は思う存分暴れてもよいという事です。待ちきれない方は、立ち上がってメンバーの名前を呼んでも構いません！もう少しで武道館にまた新たな歴史が刻まれます」って感じの）。

客電が落ち、SEが流れ始める。この曲はちょっと調べてみたけど昔使っていて音源化されていない「Light for Closed Your Eyes」という曲だそうです。曲の後半でメンバーが一人ずつ登場していく。全員いる、栄喜もKAZUMAもDAITAもNATINも淳士も！やばい、本物だ。目を疑うような光景。夢の中にいるみたい。しかし、淳士は赤いトサカみたいな頭になっててびびった（汗）

演奏が始まる。復活を告げる序曲となったのは誰もが予想しなかっただろう「NO CONTROL」。でも恐ろしいぐらいにハマってる。NATIN（だったと思う）「イマジネイショーン！！」の叫びから「Imagination」。２曲ともインディーズのときの曲、もはや今日のライブは何が起こるのか？何を演奏するのか全く読めません。どうなるのか？？この後ＭＣ

栄喜「5年かかりました。SIAM SHADEの栄喜です。今日は俺だけじゃなくてSIAM SHADEのDAITAもいるしSIAM SHADEの淳士もいるしSIAM SHADEのNATINもいるしSIAM SHADEのKAZUMAもいるんだぜ」　←このＭＣはめちゃくちゃ印象に残ってます。

3曲目にメジャーデビューシングル「RAIN」、そして驚きの「CAN'T FORGET YOU」と続き、KAZUMAのコミカルなロボットダンスで人気の少しエロティックな「Why not?」。続いて大好きな曲の一つ「LOVESICK ～You Don't Know～」が演奏される。ツインヴォーカルの真骨頂が発揮されており、メロディが駆け抜けていく爽快感がたまりませんでした。大合唱だったしな。

栄喜「次はみんなが一番愛してくれた曲を演奏します。Dear...」。先ごろファン投票で初日から1位を記録し続けたこの曲「Dear...」、心に染みます。次がベクトルが正反対の猛進の「PASSION」で驚き。この曲のギターリフは生で聴くと全身に電流が駆け抜けていくような感覚だった。その後、切ないメロディと歌詞が交錯していくヒットシングル「曇りのち晴れ」、ミラーボールによる演出がさらなる叙情感を出したバラード「大きな木の下で」と続いていきました。

楽器陣4人によるインスト「Solomon's Seal」が演奏された。しかも曲間にドラムソロを挟むスペシャルバージョン（前の武道館のLIVEの時の「THE 武道」ですね）。7色にギターの音色が変化していく変拍子満載の超絶インスト。目まぐるしく展開していくこの曲はまさに生き物みたいで、生で聴いてて鳥肌が立ちました。恐ろしいぐらいの凄さだった、この日一番衝撃を受けた曲だった。

「GET! GET! GET OUT GET!GET OUT GET!」と燃え上がるコーラスが始まり、「GET OUT」。プロレスのテーマソングだったこともありヘヴィな楽曲、クールなメタルナンバー「NEVER END」を挟み、「Shout out」を演奏。この曲では炎が噴出すという演出でさらに武道館の熱気がさらに高まりました。

おなじみのバスドラとベースの音が聴こえる、栄喜が煽りまくる次は間違いない「PRIDE」。もうこの辺りから自分はさらに大きく頭振ってました。「Don't Look Back!!」でさらに熱量が上がる上がる。テクニカルなギターが印象的な「PRAYER」では鮮やかなギターフレーズに耳を奪われた。そして、これを聴かなきゃ帰れねえ！定番3連発の最後、全てをぶっ壊す暴れナンバー「GET A LIFE」。ヤバイ、イントロから悶絶もの！「Dont' You Fuck with Me!～」とコーラスも叫んだ叫んだ。

栄喜の新一さんへの想いと武道館にいるみんなへ“いつかは死ぬんだから精一杯生きてください”という強いメッセージ。今日、この曲を捧げます。というMCには思わず胸が熱くなった。そして始まった「Life」。俺は今まで何度この曲に助けられただろう。そして数えられないぐらいこの曲を今まで聴いてきた。生命の誕生を表すようなイントロ、徐々に人生の階段を登っていく展開、魂に響くヴォーカル、あまりにも切なすぎるギター、情熱的でドラマ性に富んだアウトロと全てが完璧とも思える“人生”をテーマにした壮大なミドルチューン。それをようやく生で・・・この五感で感じることができる幸せ。

特に好きなこの部分で泣きそうになった。でも「GET A LIFE」でテンション上がりまくってて涙は流れなかったけど。でも、言葉も発することができないぐらいの感動の渦に飲み込まれてました。このときは、今日はこれを聴けてもう思い残すことは無いと思いました。

アンコール１では“俺達の飛び道具の曲”という言わずも知れた世間一般で最も有名なヒットシングル「1/3の純情な感情」が演奏された。続いてプロ野球ニュースで流れてヒットした「Dreams」。高揚していくメロディがたまらない。「もっともっと風を蹴って」これは歌詞の一部なんですが、発売された当時よく聴いてまして励まされましたね中学生のときでしたけど。この後、「まだまだいくぞー！」とか栄喜が言ってたけど、なぜか戻っていってしまった・・・

再びのアンコール。KAZUMAが側転・バク宙しながら登場した（笑）。猛烈！の一言がよく似合う「D.Z.I」。イントロで痺れるわ、パワーコーラスに悶絶するわでやばかった。次はこれまたお馴染みのドラムソロ、その間にNATINがTシャツ脱いでステージ後方のスタンド１階席に投げ入れる。
きちゃうのか？きましたよ「Don't Tell Lies」が！あんまり最後だとは思いたくなかったけど、頭振って、拳振り上げて、叫んで、燃え尽きて・・・

終わって欲しくない、その思いも虚しく終わってしまいました。まだ夢から覚めたくなかった。けれど終わってしまった。ライブ後に会場内に「Dear...」が響き渡ってからは会場全体がずっと歌ってた。SIAM SHADEのファンの一体感というものは今まで感じたこと無いぐらいのものでした。そして最後に壮口さんの影アナ「良いお酒で飲みましょう」という言葉が心に染みた・・・

演奏の所々で5年間の空白を感じるところもありましたけど、何より感動がそれよりも勝っていたのであまり気になりませんでした。この眼で、この耳でSIAM SHADEを感じることが出来た喜び。夢心地とはこのことか？まだこの夢を見続けたかった・・・。全22曲・2時間強という時間、ファンになり6年経ってようやく見ることのできたSIAM SHADEはとにかく凄くかっこよかった。今年22本目のライブでしたが、積年の想いもあり今までで一番感激したライブでした。この2007年11月18日は忘られない一日となりました。

正直、何年かに1回はこうして夢を見させて欲しいと切に思いました。
まだ見足りない、伝説の時をまたいつか刻んで欲しいものです。

SIAMと大太とBINECKS。
『SIAM SHADE』は唯一無二のロックバンドだ。
私にとって何事にも変えることの出来ないロックバンドだ。
最高で最強のロックバンドだ。
その気持ちは絶対に揺るがない。
そんな事を更に実感した武道館でのライブだった。

終わりは始まり。

5年前のあの日の言葉。

そう。一夜の再結成を経て、彼らはまた自分の道を進み始めてる。
SIAMがあったから現在の彼らがある。
SIAMのDAITAがあったからこそ、いまのDAITAがある。
SIAMで培ったものを、それぞれの場で進化させている。

だから、BINECKSがある。

ということで。
もうすぐBINECKSライブ＠新宿ロフトです。
楽しみましょー。

大太のメッセも更新されたねー。
そういえば、19日になった途端に居酒屋で携帯から『DFS』に申し込んでた大太ファン数名です(爆)

明日、奇跡の夜。

『SIAM SHADE』と過ごす時間は限られてる。
それは、わかってる。ちゃんと終わりが来ることもわかってる。

だからこそ。
その限られた時間の中で彼らの姿をしっかりと焼き付けてきたい。

奇跡の夜まであと一週間。

あと一週間です。
来週は九段下にいるんです。
武道館にいるんです。
『SIAM SHADE』と共に、彼らを愛する仲間と共に同じ瞬間を過ごしてるんです。
5年前に彼らを見送ったあの場所で再び彼らと逢うんです。
いろんな思いでDAITA、栄喜、一馬、NATIN、淳士を見送ったあの場所で、5年間の時を経て再び逢えるんです。
夢の続きはちゃんとあるんです。

ココロ、ここにあらずです。
カラダもここにあらずです(笑)
魂はすでに武道館周辺をさまよってると思われ(爆)
何かもう自分がどうしていいんだか、どうなんだかわかんない状態(笑)
SIAMについて書こうとしても、何が言いたいんだか何を書きたいんだか訳わかんなくなってます(爆)

大太がギター弾いてる姿なんて、ソロライブや氷室ライブでたくさんみてるけど、でもSIAMの大太としてギター弾く姿を見るのは私にとって全然意味の違うものなんです。すごくかけがえのないことで何よりも大切なことで。それは他のメンバーにしてもそう。
『SIAM SHADE』は何事にもかえられないもの。

もう。どうしよう。
当日、朝から行きの電車の中ですでに泣いてそうな気もするし。
反対にかえって冷静になってそうな気もするような、しないような。
自分の行動が予測できません(笑)

ところでライブグッズはどうなんだー？
前にメールで問い合わせたら（←ハイ、問い合わせしました/笑)グッズは予定してるので詳細はHPで発表します、とか返信来たんだけどなぁ。
明日あたり発表になったりするかな？

BINECKSチケ、届く。

SIAMライブ＠武道館に向けて心ウキウキ・ドキドキ・ハラハラ・ワクワクの日々を送ってますが。

不意をついて(笑)BINECKS＠新宿LOFTのチケが届きました。

ははは・・・(― ―)
相変わらずのチケ番で(― ―)
微かに期待はしていたものの無残にも…(ノ_・。)
まぁLOFTなんで後ろでもそりゃ見えますけどね。

今年は本当にチケ番には恵まれませんなー。
DAITAも氷室もBINECKSもSIAMもーーーーー。
唯一良かったのは名古屋のDAITA×BINECKSだけだね。

でも、行ったからには楽しんできますけどね(￣▽￣〃)

さー。5年ぶりのSIAMがもうすぐです！！
あと9回寝れば(笑)彼らに逢えるんです！！

SIAMリハ。

大太メッセや一馬の日記読んでると、あの頃が蘇ってくる。
あの頃と変わらぬリハの様子のようで嬉しくなる。
音を重ね合わせればあの頃と何ら変わらないんだよね。
誰かがいないからか？なんてことは言わないよ(爆)
やっぱり5人揃わなきゃね。5人揃わなきゃ意味がない。

大太。
やっぱりねー当時はねー、みんなに無理させてたんだよ(笑)
尖がってカッコつけて無理に難しいことしようとしてたんだろうな。
どこかで、そればかり追いかけてしまうようになってたんだろうな。
大太があれこれ注文厳しいから、みんな大変だったよね(笑)

奇跡の夜に向けて。

今回、奇跡のようにMyパソコンは頑張ってくれました！
やれば出来るじゃん(笑)

何故でしょう。
大太のコメント、突っ込みどころ満載でどうしたものだか(爆)
PCの前で笑っちゃいましたさσ(￣∇￣；)
それを言うなーーーとか、おぃおぃ、、とか(笑)
せつなくなったりもしたけれどね。

それでも、大太らしくてね。SIAMらしくてね。
大太の言葉で聴けて良かったかな。
きっと本当は簡単には語りきれないほどの葛藤があったんだろうけど。
それでもそれを吹き飛ばすぐらいに新一さんへの思いは強かったのだろうね。
でも、新一さんの事だからこそ5人の気持ちが一つの方に向いて、奇跡の一夜を迎えることが出来て。
一夜限りの武道館。こだわり続けた武道館で。
そんなとこはやっぱり『SIAM SHADE』なんだと思う。
だからこそ、いつまでもこれからも好きなんだろうな。

後半、KEITAも登場。
KEITAが一緒だと何故に急にアニキっぷり度が増すんだ？大太(笑)

でも、二人の関係もいい感じに強まってるなー。
それはすごく伝わってくる。新一さんが大太を思ってくれてたような気持ちで大太もKEITAを見てるのかなと、ふと思ったりもする。
きっとKEITAの事可愛いんだろうな(笑)KEITAも大太の言うこと素直に受け止めて吸収して大きくなろうとしてるだろうから。
前回以上のライブを期待してるよ。
大太のスパルタ教育にしっかりついていってね、KEITA(笑)

昨晩！無事「武道館」ライブを終えました。

５年半ぶりのLIVEという事もありバタバタな所も正直ありましたが、

暖かいファンのみんな、愛情あるスタッフの方々に支えられ

「HEART OF ROCK」なライブができたかな～ッと思います。

今回のライブにご協力くださったスタッフ、関係者の皆様

そして会場に来れなくても見守って応援してくれた皆様、

会場に集まって熱い声援をくれた多くの皆様に心からお礼申し上げます。

本当にありがとうございました。

ライブ後は、故「中村新一」氏との数々の思い出の残る場所で

少人数でしたが、メンバーとデビュー当時からお世話になっている

大切な仲間達が集い「奇跡」の一日を与えてくれた「昭和の男」

に、そして迎える予定だった彼の50歳の誕生日に乾杯ッ！しました。

「ビール」を呑みました。

ひたすらビールな夜でした。

懐かしい思い出話にも花が咲きました。

そして・・・打ち上げました。

「奇跡」の続きがあるかは・・・神のみぞ知る！ッといったところですが、

SIAM SHADEの創ってきた伝説は、これからの5人の生き様と共に

未来へ継承されていく事でしょう。

Thank you for the amazing concert. It hit me when I was outside Budohkan queing up with thousands other fans for the concert goods to realise a dream is soon to come true.

It took hearing Hideki`s voice from inside the Budohkan hall to make me understand that one of a dream I thought will never be is coming true. And it took me hearing Dreams live to cry my eyes out for the one Ａｎｄ　only Siam Shade; with all five members on a stage together.

Thank you Heart of Rock; it was BEAUTIFUL. Thank you Siam Shade

I am home, finally, and ready to blog just this night. The rest of the trip will come later. And just to add this entry will be long. I tend to get really descriptive or wordy…

Aya and I had been in Japan for about 3 days and were exhausted beyond belief. But the day of the concert, the time and weather was on our side. We arrived out of Kudanshita Station on the dot of 12p.m and there were already people there asking for anyone who were selling tickets. I felt so lucky to have gotten tickets from the pre-sale. We drank in the views of the lake outside Budoukan as we walked out. We stood at awe when we finally saw the big wooden arch of Budoukan.

Our faces registered one of wide eyed amazement that there was already a LONG line. We were kinda thinking is this the line for just ‘getting’ into Budoukan itself or was it for something else. We were almost tempted to ignore the line completely but Aya and I decided it was safer to find out what the line was for, JUST IN CASE. Timidly in our very broken Japanese language skills, we asked what it was for. Good thing we did coz that was the line for the loot. It was about 12:20 that we lined up. By about 1-ish the line had grown from 3 rows to 6 rows behind us. This was only OUTSIDE. Everyone’s face had the shocked look of the longness of the line when they walked in, lol..We hadn’t even reached inside yet either!

We were in que for about 1 hour and a bit. I love the crowd control of the Japanese people. It was orderly, no disruption and done with quick effiency.

While we were lining up, we heard bits and pieces of sound check. Suddenly the roof of Budoukan started to actually ’shake’. And then it was followed by a massive thumping of loud drumming rolls and clashing symbals. I was like O_O, whoa Junji’s having fun lol..

Aya and I each got a Tote Bag, Notebook, Keychain, Phone Strap, T-shirt and a set of wristbands for merchandise. My only other splurge was Daita’s merchandise. I bought his TGE: Second Impact DVD and his Direct Mode album. I was SO close to buying his Direct Chord album as it is very hard to get but I didn’t want to go over budget. T____T

After piling all loot into the tote bag, we walked further and found the main entrance of Budoukan. And up on the wall was the Heart of Rock banner.

By then it was about 2:30. Aya and I walked further down towards the clock tower to wait around a bit. And then OMG, we heard them PRACTICING! I can’t upload the video I took of the sound check of them practicing Dears… But it was then that it hit me in the face that I was actually HERE! IN JAPAN, LISTENING TO HIDEKI’S voice from OUTSIDE a building. It something that I never thought I’d be able to ever hear in a lifetime. They practiced Dears, 大きな木の下で to name a couple.

At 4p.m the security teams were ushering people to line up for the doors. And another wait ensued. Aya and I were both quiet for most of the time as we were both very excited and itching to just get into the hall. When we found our seats, a huge wave of relief just swept over me assuring me that I was here. In Budoukan. To see Siam Shade.

That was where we were from the stage. I was so excited that we were on Daita’s side of the stage!!!

That’s pretty much all the pictures I could get from before the live started. I remember feeling excited but lethargic at the same time. Underneath the chairs there were very nice booklets on the history of the members, their messages to everyone, and their career. But by 5p.m people were already shouting their favourite members names. I was shouting Daita for all I was worth lol. Finally at about 5:15pm, the entire stadium went dark. The crowd went crazy. The announcer’s voice came on instead reminding everyone of the rules and regulations about having a good show and respecting the bands wishes of not having photos of any sort taken during the show with any device of any sort.

Then they came out! With an exploding BANG, they walked out. Hideki manning the front and the usual set up. It was suddenly so surreal to be seeing them this close. Hideki was super energetic and started the show very well. Aya and I were just jumping like crazy and singing along to the songs as they came and went. I held our banner saying that we were from Malaysia the whole time hoping that they would see it. I SWEAR KAZUMA SAW IT!!!!! The best part was there was a camera crew running around the hall to capture parts of the crowd. OMG, one of them walked past our banner, did a double take and turned the camera to the banner and our faces. WAHAHA!! Aya grabbed my shoulder and pointed. As dorky as we looked we still went and showed our spazzy faces on camera lol. (with peace signs cough) XDDD. We got a lot of attention from other people as they walked past our banner too. One guy and his friend walked past our banner, his friend walked on but got dragged back by that guy and they stared at it and gave us the thumbs up before walking off XDDDD. I stress again that I SWEAR KAZUMA SAW THE BANNER!!!

Yes they played 2 encores! Rain was clearly a crowd favourite coz for some people were introduced to Siam Shade through Rain before 1/3. Kazuma entertained everyone with his random dancing during ‘Why Not’ Lol lol!! Seeing him shake and boogy with his guitar swinging was the funniest thing I saw him do. That and his multiple back flips during the show.

They played a lot of songs from the and a fair few from their early works like No Control and Imagination. B-sides this time as compared to the set list they had for V7 and V8. It was during these times that the stage blazed with fire from torches embedded on the stage. The crowd was one of the most loving crowd I’ve ever seen. Everyone remembered where to jump and where to put in the add in shouts in every song sung like in Why Not. PRIDE and Passion. DEARS wrung everyone into an emotional and happy frenzy. This is one of my personal favourites. Another absolutely stunning song was Solomon’s Seal. Daita had changed the usual rendition and added parts in it and improvised more. It was familiar but new at the same time. It really touches my heart again and again every time I listen to it.

They didn’t play LOVE but the sound team played it on the speakers, and during this time they were giving out freebies like Towels, Picks and Drumsticks. Being the usual joker he is, Hideki played heaps with the crowd and made everyone laugh with his humour and his upbeat nature. In the second half of the show after a fresh change of clothes, Natin gave fan-service by taking his shirt off!! (>3<) *swoon* Junji soaked up all the applause and love he could get with the traditional JUNJI chant! Kinda disappointed he didn’t play with the crowd enough as he did in V8. But he was fun-loving regardless throughout the whole show.

I loved the dedication that Hideki said to Nakamura Shinichi before singing ‘Life’. He said that everyone should know the reason to why this concert was being held. This was truly beautiful. When the song started, the hall was all quiet, it was only them playing, Budoukan suddenly changed into a magical starry lit paradise with little bulbs hanging as a backdrop behind them with the help the disco ball. Hideki sang with such emotion and such passion that it took my breath away. The song would never sound the same again. Not like the way Daita, Natin, Junji and Kazuma played that night.

When they come out from the change of clothes, Hideki announced the most famous song of all.. 1/3の純情な感情 and the whole hall erupted in cheers, and this song connected SO many people together. I remember singing along with every part and it was suddenly I realized that this was the real thing. So many emotions went over wave by wave in me that I was fighting to hold back from sniffing.

Then the real sinker came when right after finishing 1/3の純情な感情, the riffs for my most favourite song came, Dreams… It was here I was already close to tears. But I thought that if I started crying I wouldn’t be able to see or hear anything if I was blinded by tears so I sucked it up and let the song immerse me. I teared but I didn’t cry.

They ended the entire show with more crowd going B-side songs in the 2nd encore as these songs don’t get played often. They left the stage in a short but sweet manner. Didn’t linger very long on stage but they did thank the crowd from the bottom of their hearts bowed as a band and left.

For us fans, the show didn’t end there, many of us stayed even while people were still leaving. The audio team put Dears on play and those of us that remained stayed behind to sing our hearts out to them again.

Upon exiting the hall, outside we saw the extent of how much Siam Shade meant to not only the fans but to other famous J-Rock artists and Mass Media alike. All the people below had sent flowers congratulating Siam Shade on their first and last ever re-union concert. I was especially suprised to see names like Janne Da Arc, T.M Revolution and Gackt there to name a few. Every member of Luna Sea (except Sugizo) had sent and individual huge bouquet of flowers each!

And thus begun the end of one night that has made history. Thank you Siam Shade for such beautiful, wonderful memories. One of an unforgettable night in Budoukan….

HOORAY!

Now we have our SECOND HEART OF ROCK CONCERT REPORT!

Concert report content by Yoeru-san:

My friend and I went to Nippon Budokan around 1:45PM. The queue for the SIAM SHADE merchandise during that time was terribly too long. We lined-up immediately hoping that we’ll reach the booth to buy some items before the concert starts.

One good thing about that day was the weather. It was comfortably cool. So while waiting patiently, we chatted, took pictures of the crowd, and we played basketball (hehe... just kidding!). An hour and a-half later passed, we were able to arrive at our destination point. The merchandise booth:

From there, I was able to get mostly of the items as planned on the budget... (hmmm ok, I guess it was over budget, spent too much on few items thinking it would be the last night ^^;):

It was still around 3:30PM that time so we decided to have a break at Mc Donalds:

Around 4PM we rushed to Budokan and changed for the ultimate uniform “Heart of Rock” weehee ^_^, and then lined-up for the concert.

This time it was quick, the next thing I know was I am inside Budokan and staring at this:

And as usual while waiting for the event, rules while watching the concert such as taking pictures, recording video, mobile phones, etc. were announced.

5PM, the crowd started to feel the intense heat of the concert, audience were shouting of their favorite band member. On my area most were shouting “DAITA” and “JUNJI” ^_^ How about me? I shouted my name. (Just kidding!) ^p^ . Oh and it was a coincidence that I met one SIAM SHADE fan from Australia, Danny, just a seat away from me. We chatted, and it really feels comfortable to meet and find some foreigners also watching the concert.

And then, few minutes later, I think around 5:10PM the concert already started. Things became blurred to me this time, why? I guess mix of excitement and also the crowd standing up blocking my view!!! >.< Hehehe... But nevertheless, since I was located at the last row, all of us on that area, was able to stepped and stood up on this rail giving us additional height. Taking pictures during this time wasn't allowed, so I never had the chance to get a shot while they were performing. The position of each member was the usual setup like DAITA on left, HIDEKI on center, KAZUMA on right, etc. Here's the list of the song they performed in the following order:

The night became memorable being able to see them perform live and able to hear my favorite songs such as 1/3, Dreams and Dear ^_^ Before I was just listening 1/3 from Rurouni Kenshin anime *emote* but now I can't believe "THIS IS LIVE!" ^o^. I remembered myself singing on 1/3 every each part of it.

Although I was far away to see DAITA's gear, I had a good view of his performance on how he stepped on his pedals, etc. I thought he'll be using his new guitars such as PRS, Dean Guitars, etc. but he did not. Different effects such as explosives and fire blowing out from the stage were used. A big disco ball also gives a universe atmosphere inside Budokan. I felt like I was part of a galaxy star constellation, listening to the hymn of their live performance.

There were some surprisingly stunts made by KAZUMA by doing few backflips before exiting and entering the stage for an encore. JUNJI gave away lot of drum sticks and the same goes for DAITA, NATIN and KAZUMA for the picks. HIDEKI on the other hand, toyed the crowd near the arena (where I laughed) as he fakingly attempted to throw the towel and drum stick, either dropping it behind or using the stick to scratch his back.

HEY EVERYONE!

WE FINALLY HAVE OUR FIRST HEART OF ROCK CONCERT REPORT BY AN INTERNATIONAL SHAMU FAN!

They played it! The third song in, Siam Shade performed my favorite song - an amazing occurence seeing as it was never even a single. I lost my shit and sang every word and became teary-eyed. It was the second song I heard from them back in the day after 1/3 no Junjou no Kanjou and looking back at it, it was the song that made me a Siam Shade fan.I can probably die happy because I saw Siam Shade perform Can't Forget You in concert.

Luckily before heading back to the venue I stopped to buy two drinks so I wouldn't dehydrate as it was quite warm outside. I feel very fortunate that the weather was so good as it's been rather chilly in Japan otherwise and it would have been unfortunate standing in line freezing. Anyhow, I made my way to the front entrance were there was no line in place and people were still loosely hanging about wherever. The very front entrance of the venue was lined with flowers to Siam Shade from other artists - Gackt, Janne Da Arc, J, and many more. I can only assume this is a common occurance? I confusedly kept walking in the direction I was heading and just then one of the staffers made an announcement and everyone started moving in mass to one of the entrances. I've never felt like such a herd animal before cause I was blindly following everyone without knowing what I was doing. The entrance forked into two areas so I had one of the workers tell me which way to go. Miracly, I wound up being very early in the first crowd of people to get into the venue.

Japanese concert staff and security all wear suits. It looks imposing as it is a sea of men and women in black, however looking closer at them it was obvious some of them were still obviously kids. However their bag checking system is a joke, not really sure what they were checking for anyhow. My bag had a bunch of stuff in it like books and maps and snacks and drinks.

So once inside I was able to find my general area, the northwest side of Budokan which was easy enough as all it took was matching the kanji on my ticket, finding my seat however was another matter. The first two girls I asked just kind of pointed me to the correct doorway which didn't help at all. However after finally asking the last guy that was actually wandering the seated area he pointed me to the very very top of the arena at which point I could finally see that there were people standing. This was the nosebleed of nosebleed locations AND it didn't even get the luxury of a seat, so as I typed my last blog update I was sitting on the floor against the wall. I, like all attendees, got a commemorative Heart of Rock booklet which I glanced at casually and stuff in my bag.

As it turns out the spot to the left and right of me were both of girls that were there alone and the girl on the left of me was quite nice and even asked if I was there alone. We also lamented together when the concert finally started since everyone stood up and we couldn't see crap. As everyone in the our standing row did we perched stood up on rail to get a better view, however the space between the rail and the seat in front of it was so narrow you bascially had to tippy tow, lean forward awkwardly and support yourself with your hands on the top rail, it was a totally awkward ordeal and everyone found their own unique ways of dealing with it. The girl to the left of me ended up taking off her boots completely in order to better balance on the rail. For some reason the seat right in front of me was empty for the first 5 or so songs so I actually crossed over and put my feet on the empty chair while perching myself the very top rail.

So luckily while they played Can't Forget You, the third song in I had the best view I had during the whole concert. I was off to one side and mostly saw a half profile/half back but the video screens on the lower level helped me see people's faces as they were peforming, overall though I'm very grateful that I could be there, even in the super uncomfortable nosebleed seats standing area XD. From my vantage point I had the best view of Hideki and Kazuma, so not a bad thing at all. When I was able to stand straight up on the rail or the seat I also had a good view of Daita and Junji as well. I could not see Natchin at all since he was totally in the back of the stage directly across from me and was mostly hidden by all of Junji's symbols ~__~ but I'm entirely happy with what I got to see. Yay!

The concert is kind of a blur to me as every now and then I thought "wow, I can't believe I'm here" XD. When Siam Shade played Get a Life I thought it was insanely awesome to have a stadium of people sing "Don't you fuck with me. I won't fuck with you." Hilarious! Life was the last song of the set and Siam Shade dedicated it to their manager, who of course passed and was the reason the band was having the reunion concert in his honor. During an emotional emcee, Hideki looked like he was about to cry and when he paused people in the audience yelled supportive messages. Also, unless I am remembering incorrectly, I believe they also did two encores. The first song of the first encore was 1/3 no Junjou na Kanjou and by the audience reaction as they began to play it was easy to tell it was a crowd favorite.

The show included a disco ball, a curtain of lights, a circle of flames (it looked like they were performing in hell!) and slightly smaller/redder flames. In terms of the audience reaction, I have to say I'm slightly underwhelmed by Japanese crowds. Sure they have their coordinate things they do, and I'm sure Siam Shade shows are a bit better because they have this fist airpunching thing that is common at their shows, however aside from that they mostly stand there silently without moving. Also slightly disappointed that no one does anything during slower songs like Life, where holding up your cellphone or even armwaving would totally be appropriate and heart felt. Then again maybe it was my nosebleed location as I did see people on the arena floor headbanging during certain songs. Still...

I can't remember the exact set list per-se but they played these songs of what I can remember.

I know I will most likely be embarassed later by forgetting songs that are totally important and epic. o__O

In typical form, Hideki left the stage for a while which the rest of band performed an all isntrumental song. It might have been Solomon's Seal but to be honest I can't quite be sure as it seems they arranged it differently and Daita's solos changed quite a bit from the original. In the middle of the instrumental everyone left stage and Junji did his usual crazy double-bassing drum solo and the whole crowd did the usual clapping & "JUNJI!" rhythem.

Kazuma did some backflips on stage after they had finished up some songs, and did them again when they came back for an encore. Hideki toyed with the arena floor crowd by faux throwing the towel he was using into the audience twice before finally doing so after the very last song.

In addition to the merchandise, they were selling a special Siam Shade XI Heart of Rock Complete Best Compilation. I vaguely thought of buying it but in reality I have all the songs on the album already and I thought the concert merch was much better to remember the concert by than a compilation album. Additionally, they were selling CDs from each members solo projects but that didn't interest me much either.

Outside the lower main entrance of Budokan there were large boxes with the names of each member on them where I assume you could drop of presents for each of them. That's kinda super awesome XD

Hideki is an activist for many causes like helping children and AIDS prevention.

Hideki is a Hyde (x-japan) fan Siam Shade did a cover of "pink spider" after he passed away. Hideki also dedicated a song titled "tears I cried" on Siam Shade's 5th album. Also X Japan Hyde's band is also having reunion this year as well 2007.

Stage name use to be Chack then later was changed to his real name Hideki.

Screwed up his lines when they performed 1/3 back on the monkey science vol 4

Recently got two more tattoo's on his wrist and hand as of 2007.

During Hideki's solo career he can out with "Hideki monthly" a cd that came with 2 songs & mini comic that went along with the songs.

After Siam Shade disbanded Hideki created the band ACID and played the piano but left the band because ACID was being seen as Hideki from SIAM SHADE so he left the band. And left Junpei in charge of ACID and Hideki left saying "that ACID IS HIS PRIDE AND JOY" and would like to see them perform at the Budokan.

When he was with ACID he had show called ACID Hideki Channel it was hosted by him and the following band members

The first DETROX album is all in English.

ONE NIGHT REUNION

This reunion wouldn't happened because of Nakamura Shinichi, "momo chan" passing away. Nakamura was SIAM SHADE manager since the beginning when they were just a small band making there way up until they went mainstream. In other words Momo chan was pretty much a father figure to the band members.

"NAKAMURA Shinichi, a man who loved SIAM SHADE more than anyone else and the group's chief manager who passed away last April 25, 2007 at the age of 49. He doesn't give up to the very last minute as we witnessed him dwelling with his sickness. The only thing we (SIAM SHADE) can do is to honor no other than "Shinichi ISM", ROCKing sincerely from our hearts, which continues to live...
From there, it has been decided by SIAM SHADE's each member with their burning desire to re-form the group that parted ways 5 years ago for one challenging night to LOVE and ROCK LIVE at Tokyo, JAPAN Budoukan Stadium.

SIAM SHADE HISTORY

SIAM SHADE may be best known to US audiences as the band behind the Rurouni Kenshin ending theme, 1/3 no Junjou na Kanjou (1/3 pure hearted emotions).

In Japan they are famous for their catchy songs and charismatic members.

They're also known for being one of few bands to concentrate on their music, at a time when many other bands were more concerned with their visual image.

1999 SIAM SHADE created a volunteer organization named Siam Shade Romania Charity, in which they helped starving Romanian families and ill children, and communities.

July 2000 SIAM SHADE was the FIRST Japanese rock band to play a live in Korea at the Pusan International Rock Festival in July 2000. Before the event, the Japanese language was prohibited in Korea though the band had released one of their albums there completely in English.

Throughout their 11 year history as a band together, Siam Shade had one dream; to play at the Nippon Budoukan. They finally did on December 28, 2001 and all the members agreed that it was their best show ever. Having reached their goal, Hideki, Kazuma, Daita, Natin and Junji decided that it would be best to disband, which came as a huge shock to fans, seeing as how they're popularity can be compared to bands like Malice Mizer, Dir en grey and even LUNA SEA. They decided that their dream was realized, and their time as a band had come to a close. Their final concert, Start and Stand up, was March 10th, 2002, again at the Nippon Budokan. An emotional Siam Shade bid their fans farewell and called it quits while their popularity was still high. The Budokan is like a sacred hall for Japanese It's a ultimate dream to play there, & once it's accomplished then that's the Climax of their band's history so Siam Shade disbanded while sitting on that highest point, that is really the perfect moment to make them Legendary. Their last (and 16th) single, LOVE, was to express their gratitude to all their fans for supporting them for so many years.

Before the band was going to disband their last few singles were featured in TV programs such as Super Soccer theme: "Black"
Oni no Sumika: "Kumori nochi hare"
Shin Nihon Pro Wrestling theme: "Adrenalin"
2000 Formula Nippon "Setsunasa yorimo tooku e"

行って来た。１つのスタジオに入りきらない程の
機材、ミュージシャン、スタッフの数だった！
それでも、昨日のリハーサルは本番の半分だから

なるでしょう、、、。
　そして、明日はSIAM SHADE LIVE in 武道館
『HEART OF ROCK』の一般チケット発売日でも
あります。もうチケットは残ってないとは思いますが
どうしても見たい方は頑張ってゲットして下さい。

本日、SIAM SHADE XI COMPLETE BEST
「HEART OF ROCK」が発売されました。
このアルバムは１１月１８日の日本武道館公演にむけて
SIAM SHADEをより知ってもらえるよう『SIAM SHADEファン
による、SIAM SHADEファンのためのアルバムを！』と
いう事で、楽曲構成はSIAM SHADEサイトを再オープンしてから
「SPECIAL」ページで「お気に入りの楽曲投票」をしてもらい
その中で人気上位楽曲を中心に構成しました。

　やはり発売日には昔も今も変わらず同じ行動をとってしまう。
CD SHOPでどんな感じに置かれているのか自分の目で確かめないと
落ち着かない、、、。(笑)

　オレは感激した。解散から５年以上が経過し、メンバーによる
アルバムプロモーションがほとんど皆無だったにも関わらず
オレが行った数件のSHOPでは大きく取りあげられ、すべて
試聴コーナーに置かれていた。
　思わず、ヘッドホーンを耳にすると、いろんな感情が
溢れてきて、体温が１℃くらい上昇したように感じた時
「聴き惚れてる場合ではない！」と思いヘッドホーンを
外すと店内では「１／３の純情な感情」が流れていた。

先日！遂に「HEART OF ROCK」RHがスタート♪

演奏メンバーでRHを始めました。

懐かしい風景です。

解散から5年半以上も経ったのに違和感ゼロの光景です。

っと一同！思っておりまする。

ッという空気感でRHは始まりましたが・・・演奏は・・・結構大変です。（苦笑）

誰がこんな難しい曲、アレンジ、演奏、にしたのか・・・？？？

「私」です。

全て「私」の責任です。（私泣笑）

自業自得です。

「指」がひきつってます。（苦指笑）

明日もまた自分を「虐めて」参りまするぅ～～～♪

[Act Against AIDS] SIAM SHADE基金

SIAM SHADEのライヴ会場で毎回行なっていた「Act Against AIDS　SIAM SHADEルーマニア基金」。
1998年に栄喜とマネージャー中村氏で訪問した、ルーマニアにあるエイズ孤児施設「明日の家」への支援を
目的として始まった募金活動は、当時たくさんの皆さんにご協力をいただき、多くの支援を送ることができました。
現在施設の子供たちは20歳前後まで成長し、元気に自立した生活を送れるまでになりました。
しかし、まだまだ世界的にはエイズ感染者が増大しており、ここ日本でも毎年感染者の拡大が懸念されています。
栄喜やメンバーと共に、エイズ啓発活動に力を注いでいた中村氏の思いを汲んで、今回もこの公演のライヴ会場で
募金活動を行いたいと思います。皆さんのできる範囲でのご協力をよろしくお願い致します。
尚、ここで集まった募金は全て、AAA事務局を通じてエイズ啓発活動に役立てさせていただきます。

O.K, so a SIAM SHADE fan is asking me how to obtain the concert ticket now since all of the e-ticketing sites he/she last checked was fully booked/sold out. Other than taking the risk to buy it only when reached in Japan (or last minute ticket sales), is there anyone out there who knows how to obtain it besides e-ticketing sites/online, or able to help the poor fan now? (or any future fans for that matters) Anyone willing to help buy ticket(s) for 'em and deal with them about payment?? Here's his latest post form JPopMusic Forum (great Q & A session!) >>

1. I am really concerned about ticket reservations. I called the number posted in the website and the woman said reservation is not possible. However, some ticket sellers may accept reservations. Where can I make such reservation?

2. And you mention something about "general selling"? So is there some sort of special selling as well? If yes, how can I avail of it?
With most concerts, there is no "reservation" per se. For some events, you receive a voucher of sorts which gives you the right to redeem it for a ticket once tickets go on sale to the public. This is common for some ticket sales that go through places like e+, Ticket Pia (the voucher still needs to be redeemed and paid for on the day tickets go on a sale in order to have a chance at a decent seat). Lawsons also had some kind of pre-sale a few days ago but you had to be in Japan already to do that.

In otherwords, at this juncture, don't worry about these ticket reservations for this concert. Just figure out a plan of action as mentioned in my previous message about how you want to acquire a ticket and that you also set a budget as to how much you are willing to spend for a ticket as tickets will be popping up everywhere after the 7th.

3. Can you give us estimates of the closing prices in Y!Japan auctions and ticket reselling?
Auction closing prices for really good seats often time borders on the ridiculous. Like well over Y50000 ($500 USD). I remember one of Onmyouza's concerts (Nakano Sun Plaza in 2006), a 2nd row seat went for over Y90000 (face value of tickets were Y4000). I'd prefer getting the cheaper 2nd floor seats and buying out 4 or 6 seats around me (still be cheaper) so that I can rock out/headbang without bothering anyone (some concerts can be nuts as I nearly socked one guy in the head while doing this air-punch move). I know that for some folks, they are willing to spend a bunch but for me, my limit is no more than double the face value. There will always be plenty of tickets for slightly less desirable seats that in reality are still decent seats which will go for near the face value of the ticket. Budokan is relatively compact and has a large percentage of seats with decent views of the stage; the only thing I don't like about the venue is occasional crappy sound in the upper level seats since the hall was not built for concert acoustics. As for ticket resellers, premium tickets (first few rows arena level, 2F South) far in advance would easily be in the Y30000-75000 range (supply and demand will determine the lower and upper limits) but the prices will start decreasing as time to concert nears if no one scoops them up.

4. The tickets are standing room I believe and there are no seats. So how does the ticket type work? For example I get an Arena ticket (what an absolute dream), is there a specification on which part of the Floor level I am to stand? Or are all Arena tickets equal and it depends on who arrives first?
Budokan is normally all seating including the arena level (places like Shibuya AX, Zepp Tokyo, etc are normally standing only). I'm not 100% certain about what sort of configuration they will be using for this concert (like making the arena level all standing in order to fit more bodies) since I haven't bothered checking into this. The way most all standing concert works is there is a specific number on the ticket and your entry time into the venue is based on that. Number ranges are posted outside the venue where you can hang around to make it easier to hear when the usher starts making announcements. When the doors open, they start calling ranges of numbers (like 1-50, 51-100, etc). You then head into the venue (once the usher verifies your ticket number and they do the usual bag search) and get as close to the stage as possible. It's a positioning game as people will try to work their way to the front even from the back. Buying tickets for all standing concerts is challenging since it requires getting these lower numbered ticket in order to get in as early as possible. The other alternative to the above is no such numbering system and you have to actually queue up early. Considering the unorderly logistics in doing it on a first come, first served basis (especially with the amount of people they could fit on the arena level), I would think that they would use the usual numbering system to provide entry.

5. If it really is first come first serve basis with regards to sitting, what time do you suggest us to line-up in order to have good seats?
See above. However, concert merchandising (goods) goes on sale maybe 2-3 hours before the doors open. If you go too late, there may be long lines to deal with and the possibility of some items selling out. There are also a limited number of lockers outside which some folks grab early so that they can stow away the stuff that they buy. For most of the concerts that I've gone to, I tend to get there at least 2.5 hours before the doors open. If I know exactly what time goods go on sale, then I get there before they start selling to grab a locker (if the venue has lockers). I also bring a small backpack just in case all lockers are taken. Alternatively, if there is enough time, I've also just gone back to my hotel to drop the stuff off. For this concert, I have no idea when they will start selling goods. The good thing though is that since Budokan is situated inside a park, it is easy to kill time if you get there early (the autumn foliage may also offer some nice colors presenting excellent picture taking opportunities).

Our dear friend, Yoeru-han has already gotten his advance ticket for the concert. It's on the South-West 2nd floor number 48 (Standing). He also provided me an image about his stadium position so you all can be familiar with the "standing tickets". (this is especially answered for )

All "standing tickets" are located at the last row (after row X). So "standing ticket" holders will not be able to see any letters, instead only numbers from 1-60. He will be ending up on 48. Please see the image for better explanation and view:

SIAM SHADE OFFICIAL TICKET LAUNCH SALES HAS ALREADY STARTED!!), I would really love if you can give me the details of your seating/standing position in the stadium, so that you fans get the idea or know where you guys are going to be, and maybe others can try to book for the nearest places with you to happily spazz together. ^.^

There is a total of 20 messages on the official site currently. I’m not sure whether I should be translating them all since my translation is only 50/50 accurate at most XDD;

But it’s really amazing that fans range from the age of 10-40 are all so passionated about the band, five years after they’d disbanded and are all looking forward to the legendary reunion live ~~Yes yes I know most people are more excited about Lunasea’s Christmas Eve reunion~~ BUUUUUT! This! Is! ~~SPARTAAAAA~~ Siam Shade!!!

There are fans who’d missed the finale live five years ago and had been regretting it since then. There are fans who felt that even after they’d disbanded for so long, their music never fade and is still residing in that special part in their heart. There are also fans ( and I bet there are many of them; me included ) who complained about the 5 songs limitation during the poll since it’s just so damned hard to choose ONLY FIVE out of the many amazing ones they’d put out over the years.

… and here is the last bit from the latest update from the site ( please remember that I’m by no mean good in the language and this is a just rough translation. Feel free to correct me if I’d made a mistake in translation ) :

投票期間中、何度も順位が入れ代わる中、「Dear…」だけは、投票初日から最終日まで、ずっと1位をキープし続けました。この曲を選んだ理由として「歌詞が大好き」「ファンのことを想って作ってくれた曲だから」「解散ライヴでの栄喜さんの涙が印象的だったから」「SIAM SHADEが大好きになるきっかけとなった曲だから」などが多かったのですが、その他「もう一度ライヴで一緒に歌いたい」というご意見を、本当にたくさんいただきました。メンバーとファンの皆さんを繋ぐ大切な曲として、ずっと愛され続けたこの曲の1位は、投票結果を気にしていたメンバーにとっても、納得のいく結果だったようです。

During the course of the voting, “Dear” was the only song that constantly outranked any other songs as #1 from day one to the last day. Those who voted for this song said “I love the lyrics”; “This was the song that was written/composed for the fans [ written with fans in their mind ]”, “Hideki’s tears left a very strong impression during the finale live (performing this song)”, “This was the song that made me love Siam Shade” — and various other reasons were listed. Another said “I would like to sing this song once more during live, together”, as were many messages that conveyed the same sentiment were received. { [ This ] important song that connects the band members and the fans continuously all this while is felt and understood by the band members too.* }

How the result of this poll will affect this upcoming live concert is still unknown, “The greatest stage” is being prepared for fans and Mr. Nakamura; these chosen songs will be steadily be included in the ongoing preparation for the live. Until the day of the concert, please await it with loads of music and vigour!

An ULTIMATE info/tips about Japan and the SIAM SHADE concert, especially on the tickets! All THANKS to Rolling Musubi from the JPop Music Forum!!

Attention to those who'll go to Japan (or in Japan) and attending SHAMU concert!!

Here's his long utter informative post:
I'm planning on being there. (the concert)

Nippon Budokan is located in Kitanomaru Park which is just north of the Imperial Palace (which itself is just north of Tokyo Station; the main terminus into central Tokyo). The closest subway station to Budokan is Kudanshita; the Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line, Tokyo Metro Tozai Line, and Toei Shinjuku Line all stop at this station (means it is easy to get to/from most anywhere in Tokyo). From the nearest street level exit (Exit 2) along Yasukuni Dori, it is around a 5 minute walk to the west and then south to the venue (the roof can easily be seen from the roadway).

If you are looking for affordable accommodations, the closest and most convenient is [ Sakura Hotel ] which is located approximately 1km east of Budokan. They offer a wide array of options depending on your budget.

The "A" is where Sakura Hotel is located and Budokan is the building with the octagonal roof. The main road just north of both is route 302 (Yasukuni Dori) and the main subway lines run underneath this. Kudanshita (九段下) subway station is that red overlay at the intersection of route 302 and 401. Jimbocho (神保町) subway station is one stop to the east (you catch either the Hanzomon or Toei Shinjuku lines to get to/from Kudanshita) and the nearest exits (A1 and A6) are a two block walk from the hotel. This should give an idea of how convenient the access is from this hotel in terms of either walking or catching the subway to/from the venue.

There are other cheaper backpacker type places a bit further away in Minami-senju (several kilometers to the northeast around the Ueno area) such as [ New Koyo ] or [ Juyoh Hotel ] but they are sort of inconvenient in terms of close access to transportation (on average, 10 minutes fast paced walk to the nearest subway line). I personally prefer paying more for accommodations if it means easier access to transportation (I usually stay at hotels close to the JR Yamanote line when in Tokyo like [ Tokyu Stay Gotanda ], [ Toyoko Inn Shinagawa ], [ Hotel Villa Fontaine Shiodome ], [ Kanda New Central or Grand Central ], [ Kadoya Hotel Shinjuku ] just to name a few).

Higher up on the budget level are business hotels. There are some affordable chains like Toyoko Inn or HOTEL Villa Fontaine that have hotels in various parts of the city in addition to a large number of independent ones but trying to list a bunch of specific places is difficult because it really depends on each persons requirements.

Ticket question: the ticket price is Y6800 (with tax), so does this mean there is only one kind of ticket sold? What should I do to get a front seat?

Yes, there is only one type of ticket for this concert (all reserved seating; doesn't matter where in the venue). Getting the best front row tickets is a tricky affair because for most general ticket sales (on the day they start being sold which is October 7th), you can't specify which particular seat you want (as they are normally assigned as tickets are sold). You may be able to request a general area however and they'll assign seats from that block. Budokan has 3 levels of seating. The floor level is the arena level. The next levels (1F and 2F) is split into 8 sections (based on their direction); S, SW, W, NW, N, NE, E, SE (for some concerts, the entire North section behind the stage is blocked off while for others, just the 2F North sections are left open).

There are some potential caveats with the arena level seating at Budokan and it ends up depending on how the stage is setup. Like the far east and west front row sections could be potentially lousy (one concert, I had a PA stack right in front of me). It also kind of sucks the further back you are unless you are a tree and don't have anyone in front taller than you blocking the line of sight of the stage (this is why my preference at Budokan is S1 or SW1/SE1 sections; preferably row A). Even if you were able to call, use the Internet, or go to someplace like Ticket Pia, Family Mart, or Lawson (using the Loppi machines) as soon as tickets go on sale, it's still a matter of luck being one of the first several hundred in the queue to get front row seats anyway. Some hardcore fans utilize all options simultaneously (mobile phone to call, another mobile phone to access via the Internet all while occupying a ticket machine at a Family Mart or Lawson convenience store). This of course is all moot unless you know someone since you have to physically be in Japan and also be able to communicate in Japanese. The one good thing for this concert is no one needs to deal with fanclub priority seatings taking away allocations from general ticket sales.

One alternative is to wait to see what seats show up on Yahoo Japan Auctions and then use one of the numerous deputy proxy agent places like Celga or Rinkya to bid on the item. The caveats with that route is the bids tend to close at very high prices especially with front row seats (on top of that, you will also have to pay the fees associated with using these proxy auction middlemen). A better alternative is to use a shopping service agent to purchase the tickets for you on the day they go on sale. [ Akibado ], [ Crescent Shop ], and [ Shopping Service Japan (aka FDJP) ] are a few places that will do this for you (fees vary). Finally, going to a ticket reseller once you get to Japan is a very useful option for getting really good seats. So long as you are armed with plenty of information, communication isn't much of a problem. Premium tickets are usually divided into numerous price ranges depending on the location of the seat. If you are looking for just one ticket (as opposed to several consecutive seats), your chances of finding a good seat is very high.

One popular reseller is [ Gorakudo ] located in the [ LOVX building in Harajuku ]. Another is Ticket World in Shinjuku. There are several more places in Shibuya and Ueno (though the one here tends to specialize in sporting event tickets) and at most of these resellers, the prices for even premium seats drop drastically (sometimes to less than half of the face value of the ticket) around 30 minutes before the start of the concert. Gorakudo is perfect for this purpose for concerts being held at Yoyogi National Stadium or Shibuya AX since you can easily run to those places from the shop in around 10 minutes. Budokan is across the city though and takes around 20 minutes via subway from Harajuku (the easiest route requires sprinting back up Takeshita Dori to Harajuku Station, catching the JR Yamanote one stop to Shibuya Station and transferring to Tokyo Metro's Hanzomon Line to Kudanshita station, then sprinting to Budokan).

Two last things one can try (especially if you are already holding a ticket) is to check the ticket office on concert day to see what kind of tickets they have left. Sometimes they end up releasing a few choice seats that were being held for VIP's closer to concert start time (this is very rare though). There are sometimes people also selling tickets close to the venue. Scalpers are looked down upon so these folks usually do their business away from the venue usually near the train station but there are also some who don't scalp and are looking just to sell a spare ticket.

The ￥6300 is for tickets bought in advance and ￥6800 is for ticket sales on the day of the concert.

Gawd, I'm sure y'all be wondering why I always put weird titles for my entries. +_+; Well, because it's bo-ring to place the usual subject for titles, so mind as well twist some words together like structures you'll find in song lyrics, hehe. ~~as a matter of fact, all titles used are from existing songs o_O;~~ O.K, I'm just being quirky.

Anyway, on with the real update for the SIAM SHADE concert!

1. Will the tickets go on sell at midnight on Oct 10, 07?
I’ll buy tickets through Lawson Ticket machines (near my apartment), the machines are available 24hours. Although the machines are available on 12MN, I am really not sure if I could buy at that time. But that’s a good idea, I am thinking of trying it too. (Just to make sure I get one).

2. When you say “reservations”does this mean you can PICK were you can seat at the Budokan? or do you just buy a ticket and seat were ever you want?
No you cannot reserve your own seat, you have to be early (at Budokan). The earlier you are in the queue, the most chances you could be near the stage. And sorry to confuse with my “reservations”, it does mean to buy a ticket in advance (which is only possible on Oct. 10).
My apologies for the information about tickets. there are two types, standing and specified seats. All tickets that are sold out has a specified number.

my comments: this is indeed a very helpful piece of info regarding about the concert seating arrangements/system. ^__^ that means SIAM SHADE FANS, PLEASE TO GATHER AS A BIG GROUP AND ATTEND THE STADIUM/CONCERT AT THE SAME TIME SO YOU ALL COULD SPAZZ TOGETHER PROUDLY!!!!!! Hope you fans who go to the concert get to be together at most times. ^^ hmmm, we need to start making banners, flags, fans, cue cards, etc. to show some love during the concert XDDDD;

3. Any new information about the concert some people are saying that Siam Shade might make a DVD for this concert.
As of this time, I am only aware of their CD/DVD Siam Shade XI Complete Best - Heart Of Rock [2CD+DVD] . I also believe they would release there concert here on DVD too but I need to find a valid source first.

my comments: THEY MUST RELEASE DVD OF THE HEART OF ROCK CONCERT! It'll be insane not to. I'm so booking for it once it's released. (since I can't attend the actual thing T^T) I'm also so ordering my first ever SIAM SHADE V7 & V8 DVDs soon, can't wait. >.<

_ Once Upon A Time...

Just to revive our knowledge on our beloved band's history & to refreshen our memories, to make us appreciate them more. XDDDDD <33333

INTRODUCTION TO SIAM SHADE

For good time's knowledge, Siam Shade(the members) used to be the support unit for LUNA SEA. (I forgot their old name +_+ will edit when I find out^^)

They've been around since 1991. The old (original) "Siam Shade" band (back up for LunaSea) were To, Ataru, A and the the remaining 2 are the ones we know as the real formation to the Siam Shade band we know today: CHACK (Hideki's former name) and NATIN (his new name is NATCHIN). They break off to form an own independent band.(that would be the last two names mentioned) FYI: the old group REALLY looked so Visual Kei or X-Japan like. XDDDD Here's their old photo:

(I suspect this is not the "origin" old one XDDD cause To? is not in there, instead Kazuma is in it too *_*; either that or I'm screwing my Siam Shade history knowledge =o *gasp*)

Anyway...

In May 1993, SIAM SHADE was formed with ONLY 3 members: HIDEKI as Vocalist, KAZUMA as back up vocalist and lead guitarist, NATIN as the bassist. Later in July, DAITA (guitarist) joined the band. A year later in May, JUNJI (drummer) was the new and final member. The rest is history. ;P *wink*

SIAM SHADE first started out by releasing demo tapes and indie single & album.(a.k.a "indies") Then during the year 95/96, they began to do alot of touring and concerts all over Japan, and slowly they released BIG singles and hits. ^_^ (as we known today, for example, like [1/3 no Junjou na Kanjou] which featured as Rurouni Kenshin's 7th END theme ^_^x they also had some of their songs & music featured in some Japanese series/media!)

The band's music influence are by their favorite ever famous classic rock bands like: Dream Theather, GUNS N' ROSES, etc. They are known to be very talented in their music skills and have creativity in their music style! ♥ Their music have variety of range and esp. very upbeat & lively, like from pop-rock style, to heavy metal or metalicca style, and even ballad! (LOL)

Sadly, as all of us Siam Shade fans know, they decided to disband at their final concert in 2002, because they feel satisfied with how far they've accomplished as a group together, and wanted to expand their own solo careers and other music projects.

BUT they are going to re-unite and perform together as a band again one last time for their new Heart Of Rock concert this November, 2007!! They are paying tribute to their beloved late manager who had passed away early this year. It may be sad, but the reason for the event is very meaningful and touching, I am sure all SHAMU fans will be very happy and touched by this final performance.

It is time to present to y'all our SHAMU LOVE Fanbook/gifts Project! It is especially for those who will not be able to attend the concert or go to Japan, and it is also encouraged to be participated by those who will be able to.

I am planning on collecting your gifts for SIAM SHADE and compile it into a nice fanbook including with cover and as many decorations as possible. ^__^ Gifts that you may wish to send/give are:

INTERNATIONAL SHAMU LOVE 2007 PROJECT

__what is it all about?
The main concept of this special project is to unite all possible SHAMU fans out there to participate in the upcoming Heart Of Rock event. Whether it is for the lucky serious fans who will affirmatively attend the live concert, or for the dear fans who are unfortunate to attend but are still hyped to support the event - this is still the place for all the SHAMU hardcore supporters at heart!

__what should I expect in it?
Well, TONS! I will try my best to gather as much info especially for those who will be going to Japan to ultimately attend the Heart Of Rock concert (of course, as one of the main reasons to anyway ;D), and at the same time satisfy those who have less chance in travelling. This is why I need all of you international SHAMU fans to participate with me so we can grow information exchange which will benefit all of us in the end! ^_^ After all, without you, there is no me, there is no we = no SHAMU love. D:

~ Miracle Night Diving ~

Greetings to every Siam Shade fans of the world!

If you haven't gotten the news yet (poor you!), our long disbanded (O.K, so it had been 5 years already, but still!!) J*Rock band: SIAM SHADE, is making a comeback for a one-night special concert entitled "kokoro kara rock" (heart of rock) in Nippon Budokan, Chidoya province of Tokyo City, Japan; on 18th November 2007, Sunday; 4:00PM door opens, 5:00PM concert starts. The official concert tickets sales however, will only start launching on 7th October 2007, Sunday. (unless you are lucky enough to catch their rare pre-sales) They even released a new music collection album of their former popular songs recorded together which included some bonus features. It is already available in stores, and you can order & purchase it to support them!

This is a very unexpecting last reunion and LIVE performance by them because the dedication is towards one of their very important manager who raised them up in their beginning of their music career, especially while they were still as Siam Shade members. Sadly, their beloved manager passed away on late 25th April, at a pity age of 49 due to illness. The former band members: HIDEKI, KAZUMA, DAITA, NATCHIN (formerly NATIN), JUNJI - announced their confirmation to re-unite for one last time together on stage, but clearly stated only for one night and that is all.

News on them to get back together, or to continue with their solo careers but still record together as a band (like L'Arc~En~Ciel), or to have a live DVD for their final miracle touching concert is no way confirmed, BUT it is obvious that this news, although for a sad touching cause, definitely make all of us Siam Shade fans unbelieveably happy as the wish to ever attend their concert or to see them together again is impossible is now coming true and this is the somewhat "now or never again" chance to catch this once in a lifetime dream.
